Congratulations, you've decided to write a book…that's great! A book can give you recognition and help you to attract more clients to your business. If those are your only reasons, then the faster you write your book, the better. But you might miss one of the best reasons for having a book if you just focus on getting it done fast. That reason is to make money
The quick and easy way to attract more recognition and clients is "slowing down and taking the time to create a bestselling business around your book", says book business expert DrProactive Randy Gilbert. DrProactive says you will end up with a more money, a better book, and a passive income far in excessive of what the book alone would have earned.
DrProactive calls it a "bestselling business," because it can make you a bestselling author and a millionaire at the same time. He recommends using the following 3 steps to create an information business around your book.
Step 1:
Make a list of the top 10 benefits (20 is better) you can provide for your clients. Next write down 7 methods to make those benefits happen (i.e. the tools, tips, and short-cuts from your own expertise that can help solve their problems). These will become your Table of Contents and are now your guide to writing your book's content.
Step 2:
Use the same expert knowledge that will be going into your book to create other information products. One of the fastest products to create is a Teleseminar.
Just ask a friend or JV Partner to interview you and invite their list to listen. This is good for you and them, because they will be exposing their followers to some great content, and you will have a recording that can be transcribed and turned into a part of your book. A one hour phone interview could become an entire chapter of your book. Do the same thing for each Chapter and you'll have your book in no time.
Besides helping your create your book, there are at least six more possible information products that will help you make money during the writing process. Each of these options will help you to Pre-Sell your books before they are published. By pre-selling your book you can often sell enough copies so that you become a bestselling author when your book is published. Being a bestselling author is far better recognition and it usually helps to get more clients too.
Step 3:
Use the 80-20 rule as a habit and work on the most important thing everyday. One hour a day would be wonderful but at least half an hour would be great. Even, if you have a conflict and must do something else for that time of day...do something anyway for at least 10 minutes on your busy days. Don't focus on perfection, just take action. Write a first draft, find an editor or revise it yourself.
Rearrange your priorities and start writing your book today by creating a bestselling business. Follow the guidelines above and in 90 to 180 days (or less) you will not only have the first draft of a great book written, you'll have enough books pre-sold to make be a bestseller as soon as it's published, as well as passive income to help put your business in the black.
There is no time like the present. Get started right now with building a bestselling business around your book. By doing so, you will be quickly writing your bestselling book and creating a million dollar business at the same time. |
